Once the research plan has been thought-out and the researcher would like to begin collecting data he or she must remember to “Do No Harm” to his or her participants! When conducting research the researcher will have gain the opportunity to speak and obtain data from willing individuals. However, it is the responsibility of researcher to obtain authorization prior to the interview. Written consent should be presented to the participant. At the time of presentation, the of consent the participant should be made aware that they have volunteered to participate in this research and that information provided will not be provided to those who are not authorized to view the data collected. All data obtained through the interview will be recorded but the data will not list any information that will disclose the participant’s identity. All data gathered should be only shared with those who have authorization to do so. It is the researcher’s priority to keep the identity of the participant secure. Although it may be possible to discover the identity of a participant the researcher must remain conscientious of their participant and what is shared.
